  • On July 29, 2010, Matt Liebenhaut presented a seminar entitled "2010 Legislation Affecting Florida Community Associations" at the North Gulf Coast Chapter of the Community Associations Institute in Tallahassee, Florida.  Liebenhaut practices in Carr Allison's Tallahassee, Florida office.

  • Kathy Davis, Carr Allison shareholder and chair of the Construction Law practice group, will participate as a panelist in a DRI webcast hosted by Carr Allison.  The webcast is designed to educate parties on the latest developments of Green Building Construction Litigation. Scheduled for January 12, 2010, Davis will address litigation over failure to achieve green-building certification, the legal theories argued by litigating parties, and a review of recent litigation across the country.  She is a member of DRI's Construction Law Committee and the Chair of its Construction Defects Specialized Litigation Group.  For the full article, including details on how to register, please follow the link.

    The Alabama Self-Insurers Association (ASIA) was formed in 1992 by 10 self-insured companies with the goal of helping employers understand the law and any proposed changes, as well as ensuring equitable coverage for the injured employee. Today, ASIA boasts a membership in excess of 400 people.
  • On Thursday, March 26, the Cumberland Chapter of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the Cumberland Career Services Office will present "Taking the express elevator to the top: 11 tips for shortening the partnership track." The program will take place at 11:00 AM in the Great Room. The speaker will be Brett Ross, a shareholder in the Birmingham office of Carr Allison. Mr. Ross will offer practical, career development advice for students who plan to enter private practice, including tips on managing office politics, producing a quality work product, and developing a client base.
