  • CARR ALLISON HOSTS 5TH ANNUAL SMOKE OFF TO
    BENEFIT BOYSTOWN OF NORTH FLORIDA


    Carr Allison is proud to announce the success of its 5th Annual Smoke Off to benefit BoysTown of North Florida.  Almost two dozen teams consisting of local businesses and law firms competed for top prize and bragging rights in the Rib and/or the Open Pork competitions in the day long event.  All entry fees were donated to BoysTown of North Florida.  

    Children from the organization attended the event, competed, and mingled with participants.  The BoysTown citizens learned about secret recipes and methods for BBQ and who knows what else!  This year BoysTown placed in both categories.  Carr Allison provided food and entertainment for all.

    We thank all who entered.  The trophies and prizes went to:

    The competition next year will be smokin’ for sure!  We look forward to it!  Everyone start working on those secret recipes!

     

     

  • Ellen C. Pappas was elected Secretary of the Tallahassee Women Lawyers.  The Tallahassee Women Lawyers is a voluntary bar association with approximately 200 members. Its purposes are to promote the status of women in the legal community; and to create, improve, and maintain supportive networks among women in the legal profession through mutual cooperation, respect, and good friendship.
  • David K. Howard of the Carr Allison's  Florence, Alabama office has recently been elected as an At-Large member of the Alabama State Board of Bar Commissioners . The Board of Bar Commissioners serves as the governing body for the Alabama State Bar Association. Mr.Howard's term will be for three years.
  • Carr Allison attorney, Justin Lamb, recently co-wrote an article titled, "Defending the Stimulus Project": Application of The Spearin Doctrine To Stimulus Package Funded Construction Projects, published in DRI's online newsletter, The Critical Path.  Mr. Lamb specializes in construction litigation and works in Carr Allison's Birmingham, Alabama office.
