  • Charles F. Carr was recently elected President of the American College of Transportation Attorneys. ACTA is a national organization limited to 25 attorneys who have represented the transportation industry in America.  Selection for membership must be by unanimous approval of existing members.
  • Judson Wells, a retired Mobile County District Judge and Carr Allison shareholder, recently served as a judge to help select the inaugural class of Mobile Bay magazine's Forty Under 40 program.  Judge Wells was one of seven community leaders who selected the top forty honorees in the Mobile Bay area age 40 and under. The recipients have distinguished themselves through their leadership, professional excellence and community service.

    The first ever Forty Under 40 class was selected from a pool of over 150 candidates. The honorees were recognized at an awards luncheon on November 17, 2009, and then in a feature article in the January 2010 issue of Mobile Bay magazine. Mobile Bay magazine is the lifestyle magazine for the Mobile Bay area. 

  • Carr Allison- which employs nearly 100 attorneys in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi- last month opened a new office in Pensacola, Florida. The new office was founded to support Carr Allison's expanding caseload across Florida and the rest of the southeast.  The addition of the new office will provide for more efficient handling of the firm's clients' interests. Carr Allison's presence in the new Pensacola office and its existing Tallahassee office will continue to provide Carr Allison attorneys with the ability to cultivate relationships at a local level throughout the Panhandle as well as supplement the firm's representation of clients along the Gulf Coast of Florida, Mississippi and Alabama.

    Carr Allison Shareholders, Regina Cash and Lucian Hodges, and associate attorneys and paralegals will lead the development of the Pensacola Office.  Ms. Cash specializes in the defense of personal injury, premises liability, workers' compensation, insurance, construction defect, wrongful death, and complex litigation. Ms. Cash practices in all state and federal courts in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. She is a member of the Florida Bar, Alabama Bar, Baldwin County Bar, and Pensacola Bar Associations.  Ms. Cash is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and numerous defense lawyers and litigation groups.

    Lucian Hodges has been handling complex litigation and major claims since 1996. The types of cases he has defended vary from: catastrophic personal injury, construction defect, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, toxic torts, workers compensation, contract disputes and professional liability. Mr. Hodges is a licensed multi-jurisdictional attorney, and practices frequently in all state and federal courts in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.  He is a member of local bar associations, the Defense Research Institute and a number of defense lawyer and litigation groups.

  • Judson W. Wells, Sr., a Carr Allison shareholder and retired Mobile County District Judge (1997-2007), recently returned to the Mobile County District Court to serve as a judge.  At the request of Judge Charles McKnight, Judge Wells presided over Judge McKnight's criminal and traffic court docket of December 3, 2009.  The Mobile County District Judges have indicated that they may ask Judge Wells to assist with dockets several times a year.

    Judge Wells stated, "It was my honor to preside over a court docket for the Mobile County District Court and Judge McKnight on December 3, 2009.  I am happy to assist with the judicial system in my role as a retired trial judge."
