Judson W. Wells, Sr. attended a joint meeting of the University of Alabama Law School Foundation Board of Directors and the Farrah Law Alumni Society Board of Trustees on September 11, 2009. The meeting took place in the Bedsole Moot Courtroom at the law school in Tuscaloosa.Judge Wells, a Carr Allison shareholder and retired Mobile County District Judge, is serving a term as a director of the UA Law School Foundation from 2007-2010. The foundation's mission is to support the UA School of Law. Judge Wells also served as president of the UA Law Alumni Association in 2000-2001.

2009Carr Allison attorney Brett A. Ross was appointed Vice Chair of the DRI Lawyers’ Professionalism & Ethics Committee on September 8, 2009. Ross will serve a one-year term. DRI is the international membership organization of all lawyers involved in the defense of civil litigation.
Ross is a shareholder in the Birmingham, Alabama office. His practice focuses on the defense of transportation, products, professional liability, environmental and life, health and disability litigation. Mr. Ross has tried over 20 jury cases and over 40 non-jury cases to conclusion.

Heather Houston recently graduated from the Leadership Mobile Class of 2009. The mission of Leadership Mobile is to seek, train and empower leaders who are committed to supporting and leading community growth and progress through networking and collaborative problem solving. As a member of the Leadership Class of 2009, Heather participated in numerous retreats and seminars all of which were designed to make the Class Members aware of some of the complex social and economic issues of the local community and then provide each Class Member with the knowledge and leadership skills to tackle those issues. The Class of 2009's hard work came to a conclusion on June 10, 2009, when the Class presented their group projects and participated in a graduation ceremony which was attended by many Leadership Mobile alumni and local civic leaders.

2009Carr Allison is proud to announce shareholder David Howard’s election as Commissioner-at-Large on the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Commissioners. Mr. Howard was also elected as Secretary-Treasurer of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. Howard specializes in defense litigation and currently practices in Carr Allison’s Florence office.
